HEIC needs a dedicated decoder, which loads from this site when you first add a HEIC file. Decoding runs locally in a worker. Orientation is handled during decoding; check the preview before saving. The output is a standard still image, not a Live Photo, depth map or HDR master.
Will it keep my camera metadata?
The converter creates a new image from decoded pixels. Camera EXIF and GPS metadata are not copied. Keep the original HEIC if you need the original metadata or full color information.
